If we're giving Ty Lawson looks I don't see why we shouldn't give Ellis a look also. He averaged 14 points and 5 assists last season. We need to replace Tim Frazier eventually and Monta would be a solid scoring guard off the bench that could give us 13-4 a night.

Ellis averaged 8.5 pts and 3.2 assists last year in 27 MPG. He has really fallen off a cliff.

ETA: To put it in perspective, Tim Frazier was a better player than Ellis last year - 7.1 pts, 5.2 assists in 23 mins with a PER of 12. Monta had a PER of 9

I've always been a Monta Ellis fan, but he has been pretty bad the past couple years in Indiana. His overall numbers have been down, his shooting percentages have been bad, and his defense was never that great either. Nevertheless, especially considering the Pelicans badly need a guard that puts the ball in the hoop, I'd be willing to take a chance on him if the price is right.
