Up until Froome's late burst on the summit yesterday, I thought there might be some surprises in the TT. Froome hasn't looked bad, but he certainly hasn't appeared indestructible. And Bardel and Uran were looking like they might still be a little spry. Smoking the GC contenders in a time trial on day one with fresh legs is one thing, but I thought there was potential for an upset in a time trial with a climb thrown in after 3 weeks of riding. But after yesterday I felt a little silly for thinking someone had a chance.
Very enjoyable tour - I watched a lot more closely this year than I have the past few years. And I can't ever remember looking forward to the next year so much (aside from the Lance days).
ETA: When you guys look back on the Lance days, are those titles "vacant" in your eyes, or do you say to yourself, "Meh...everyone else doped too, so he was still one of the greatest ever (though still an a-hole)"?

I'm not a "meh" guy on the doping subject but there are winners of the tour that admitted doping and still are recognized. It's disingenuous to recognize those tours and then wipe clean seven years of tour history. Those races happened! I still remember Vinokourov attacking Armstrong and Beloki in the stage to Gap in the 2003 tour. Beloki busting his arse and Armstrong racing through the grass and chasing like hell to protect his lead. That was some good racing...
