Despite Canada and Aranda, when you go cheap and average at Offensive Line Coach, expect average at best results. We don't have the OL to go 11-1 currently. Maybe Deculus and Stewart will show something in Fall camp and bump it up to a competent level. Bama recruits OL's that come in and start as true freshmen. That's what needs to start happening here, or we'll never get to where we want to be. I look at the roster and just shake my head at the OL. Overall, not LSU/SEC quality. Still don't have a competent backup Center. We're in big trouble if Clapp goes down. That would be a disaster. (And it could very well happen with him coming off the injury)

That's a curious statement. Grimes was considered an exceptional OL coach when he was hired. This past season LSU's OL was rated as the best in CFB.
From his time at Auburn:

During Auburn's 2010 national championship season, Grimes' coached an offensive line that helped set school records for total yards of offense (6,989) and points (577) for a second consecutive season. The Tigers led the Southeastern Conference and were No. 5 nationally in rushing yards per game (284.8) and led the SEC in scoring (41.2).

I agree his results here have been a mixed bag. Is that due to Miles forcing him to play OL out of their natural position (guards playing OT) or was it a predictable offensive scheme? IDK. This season will be interesting to see. It will give us a good barometer on Grimes' ability.
