We have the arms to match Florida, we just get too many big arms that don't know how to pitch and take longer if ever to develop. We recruit big, hard throwing guys. Many of these guys have gotten by just blowing away the hitters in high school. While some like Lange come in ready and a few like Hess quickly develop, many aren't able to have good enough command of their pitches, don't develop breaking balls that they can throw for strikes and just seem to panic when they get late in the count, which is the reason for so many walks that our pitchers give up.
While guys like Poche and Chris Cotton might never make it to the majors, I think we need a few of those guys on our team every year. They just know how to pitch
