If you would've told me we'd get 9 hits with Singer starting and that we would hold Florida to 6 hits with Johnny Wholestaff, I would've laughed at you. Last night was better than I ever would've guessed. I feel much more confident in the next 2 days than I did coming into yesterday.

Game 1 winners wind up winning the series over 70% of the time.

Sure, winner of the championship series also don't come out of the losers brackets.

71% actually.
But then you knew that after the 1,274 times they said it last night.

STFU

You shut the frick up. The stats are what they are. I realize you're probably just barely literate and that math is probably a difficult concept for you, but it's true nonetheless.

They didn't mention that since 2015 the winner of the first game has gone on to LOSE the series 100% of the time!

You do realize that all of those times the winner of game 1 went on to win are all independent of each other, right? It actually doesnt affect the game tonight.

Yes, I do realize that. What's your point?

I didn't say that LSU was going to lose the series.

No one in the history of the CWS has hit multiple HRs in one game, with at least one coming from either side of the plate.

Screw statistics.

Yeah, and 57% of game 1 winners that lose game 2 also lose game 3.

(Based off my memory of the stat line on the broadcast concerning game 1 winners: 7 have swept in two, 4 have lost in three, and 3 have won in three.)

The key to UF is not walking guys. We win last night without walking the bases loaded. They have great pitching and fielding, but hitting is their weak link. They had one timely hit and basically won because of it. If we can throw strikes and let our defense take care of things, I feel confident we can win it all. If we have control issues, then we're in some trouble with UF's pitching, but our batting lineup is much scarier than theirs.

based on scheduled pitching match-up alone... UF had the advantage game 1 & LSU has the advantage game 2

game 3 would be a dogfight (with LSU holding a slight advantage)
