I think this is true for a lot of people. But most gay people don't want to be married. And they don't want to be monogamous once they get married. And they'd really like to completely reinvent what "marriage" means. Other than that, just the same.

What are you basing this on? You can't use words like most without something to back it up.

I think this is true of many heterosexuals. This is a weak arguing point, IMHO.

I impugn generally sincere motives to the mainstream gay activists and those that have gotten married under the change. But, politically, I would agree with you. There has been a (maybe not so) subtle "anti family" or "anti traditional family" bias in the American left since at least the 1960s. The excesses of the sexual revolution are Exhibit A. The "No Man in the House" Rule, as part of the "War on Poverty" is Exhibit B. The Gay Marriage Crusade is Exhibit C.

It manifests itself in strange ways - from the philosophy of "It Takes a Village" - the famous book that our current Pres..(whew - just realized again how big a bullet we dodged in November) - sorry, then First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton wrote, to the gay wedding cake kerfuffle, and now the transgender fracas. It does seem to be an assault on "conservatism" generally and the progressives seem to take the approach that the more damage the better.
