Those are good examples....I guess my question is do you actually view those teams as good when they succeed or is it somehow a mirage created by the failings of teams who have the legitimacy to be there?

The committee needs to go to the wayside. The BCS-era computers generally put the teams in the proper ranking order at the end of the year IMO.. with the expansion to 4 teams, by all means, let anyone in the top 4 compete for the championship.
