Hate to nitpiick a CWS championship team but the tigers really need to learn how to bunt better. Beau has laid down a couple of nice bunts but other than that the team has struggled.

Freeman and smith are showing bad technique by jabbing at the ball which will almost always result in popup. The 2 Freeman popups could have come back to haunt us.

If your going to call for the bunt at least show you can lay one down.

Ok, I'll shut up now.

Eat em up!

Freeman is struggling at the plate in general, not just bunting.

But that fricking catcher yesterday was unbelievable defensively. I doubt another catcher in the country could do what he did on those 2 pop up bunts. Freeman probably would have gotten 1st against any other catcher on those.

Wasn't Freeman at or near the top of the SEC in sac bunts this year?

Freeman was dropping the bat head at the last second. Lazily dropping his hands rather than using his legs to move up or down. Looked bad.

Somewhat unrelated, but in the Florida – TCU game yesterday one of the batters was showing bunt with two strikes and the pitcher threw it right at him. The hitter used his bat to protect himself and fouled the bunt off for the out. I have no clue why they would show bunt with two strikes, but it was an interesting response.

Do you really think a college baseball team doesn't practice bunting?

I don't get the perfectly-horizontal bat position these guys are using on bunts. It's a lot harder to pop up a bunt if you angle the bat slightly, with the barrel above your hands.

I don't know if my method is antiquated or something, but I was taught specifically to angle the barrel so as to not pop up the bunt.

How about we just let Freeman hit or try to bunt for a hit in the early innings. I hate bunting in the first inning and just giving up an out.
