It is definitely a different philosophy. I like the recruits we got so far and they all seemed undervalued as a whole, but Zach does not fit the bill for the type system Canada runs. It also is odd seeing that we have 2 players that are likely commits in Spivey and Beal that are better overall players.
But, it seems that the poster who said Coach O is telling kids your spot isn't secure and that you better commit or lose out, is spot on.
I hope it works out. I still am not crazy about this commit.
He reminds me of Tyler Edwards when he committed out of Ouachita a few years back (RIP). Same type player it looks like.
With Spivey you have a 6'6 220 athletic kid who is an athlete. He played basketball and has great hands. He plays for a poor program, but his talent is there.
As for Beal you have a physical tight end who also can go catch the ball at 6'5' 250.
As I said, this is the first head scratcher so far in my eyes. We have limited spots on offense and filling it up with players we don't necessarily have to take as of today is questionable at least.

Looks like a quality h-back for Canada's system to me.
Not a traditional TE...h-back.
