Read somewhere that they would do an MRI on his arm when they get back to Baton Rouge. My Question is why not do it there?

Yeah, fly Dr. Field up there last Monday night, or fly Walker back. Could have gotten clearance to have him available for a little relief in the Finals. Longshot, but we won't know now.

Just guessing here. It sounds like he has some tendinitis in his forearm or elbow. If it has not gone away, he can't pitch no matter what MRI says. I have had that playing golf where it hurts to pick up a mug of coffee.

It is not the type of injury that requires urgent care, so there is no harm in waiting until you get home to have your own doctors run tests.

If he was considering pitching at all in this World Series, then an MRI would be in order to make sure there is no structural damage which would risk further injury. I just do not think there is any thought of throwing him, so no urgent need for MRI.

The obvious answer is that there is nothing that would come out of it that would change the decision to shut him down.
