I recall O saying the day (or maybe the day after) of his hire that he was gonna go out and get recruits regardless of their number of stars. He said something like we are gonna go out and get 2, 3, 4 star recruits; if they are hungry we're gonna get 'em.

While there is a contingent here who likes to make the point that stars don't matter, I must say that I am a little confused and perhaps concerned. Our top recruit will probably switch to Georgia leaving us with Joseph at no. 46 nationally. The other 18 recruits are outside of the top 200 (more specifically top 232). Stars-wise this class looks nothing like the Miles classes and more like well Miss. State last year for instance. But perhaps stars really don't matter and classes like this one will finally help us compete with Alabama.

That's great and all but I don't see why LSU has to go to bama to get an athlete of his caliber. Guys like that grow on trees down here.

Louisiana is down this year and a ways down. I just think O is trusting his guys with a lot of these recruits. There's tons of talent out there you really need to see it up close, test these guys out then offer the best, that's what they are doing. Smarts and toughness go a long way in football. If you have a good mix of these type of guys and then your looking at a banner year in 2019 LSU will be just fine. Bring the best guys in to compete with the bad arse freshman but at least you won't have depth problems like Miles had. We played way too many freshman and you need guys that will stay 4 or 5 years mixed in with those talented freshman. We will end the year with more 4 and 5* talent. It's not like we are recruiting 5'11" ends. The 3* linebacker we got the other day is a lot like Anthony and Thorton from TX. These guys can play football. I trust the coaches until seen otherwise.
