Nebraska is done. Mike Riley is the type of hire you make when you don't want to suck every year, but you're accepting of your team no longer being a player on the national level. For every 9-10 win season, there's going to be a 4-5 win one.

Nebraska views themselves like how Alabama views themselves so they will keep on bringing in coaches until they can compete even if it takes a 100 of them

Mike Riley???? His first go around with Oregon State was great. He should get credit for their Fiesta Bowl blowout of ND but he had already went to the NFL
Problem is for Riley is that when he returned USC was back and Oregon was on their verge of becoming a big time program. Luckily for him UW was down so he was able to survive but he saw the future of Oregon St and made the best decision
It just depends on how long Nebraska gives him.

Riley should have went to USC in 98. I do not know why he didn't. That would mean Carroll wouldn't have been there but I believe Riley would have won a national championship there and might be still coaching at USC. After all he is a Trojan
