Had the same problem. Clouds formed in the SW and the broadcast went out.
Don't miss Direct at all.

Upgrade to Genie and a new sat. dish, if you haven't done so. That improved the hell out of my DirecTv.

Far fewer weather issues, and the box is mucho faster.
