I am partial to females. In my opinion, they'll weigh less than the male, which helps with your pocket book. Plus, if they piss, it's a squat whereas a male is a spray (in early training stages).
But either sex of the dog, you'll be getting a great and loyal companion, that you'll come to know as "Velcro" because they will always be right by your side.
