Once he gains about 5-10 more pounds ? I never really understood the dynamics of a pitcher growing into his frame and his velocity and speed increasing from it. Is it just a genetics thing or is it mostly from lifting weights ? Also Do bigger pitchers just naturally have an advantage of pitching faster stuff ?

Pounds have nothing to do with it. Mechanics has everything to do with it

I've always wanted to see a video explaining how Chapman throws 103-105. That's crazy.

In high school he topped out at 95 recorded, now he's firing in at 97. 100 is just a number, but certianly he has the mechanics and throwing motion to get it up close to 100 in a few years.

It's hard to project these sorts of things, but if he can sit 97 with a wipeout breaking ball, he'll have a long career in the majors

Mechanics, having fast twitch-strong small muscles, having a strong core, and really exploding off your back side all correlates into having a high velocity.

If gaining 5-10 pounds gets you to throw a 100mph heater, then the last couple of months should have me at least in the mid 110's...

He will throw 99-100 mph in a few years when his life becomes "athlete", instead of "student athlete".

In MLB His focus 10 months of the year will be SAC, mechanics, coaching, competition, etc.

If he continues to develop his breaking ball, and can pick up an effective 3rd pitch, he has top 10 pick written all over him.

He won't take long to make the big show either

i don't understand where you put easily and 100 mph in the same sentence while referring to pitching.

Biggest factor is shoulder flexibility. Creates a sort of slingshot mechanism
