I've never had a lag problem on my touchscreen. Was this a common problem?

Yes. Supposedly fixed by OnePlus after dragging their feet on it. I never owned one, just keep up with other Manufacturers tech. This was a very common issue with their 3 and 3T I believe. Overall it is and has been a very good budget phone with some high end internals to make it an attractive buy in the mid tier market.
