No, he doesn't bare the brunt of the responsibility. Sorry, but he calmly and respectfully telling the cop he had a firearm. That's not step one of using it on the cop.

One issue is various departments have differing policy. I've been scolded by a cop for reaching for papers and other times been expected to have papers ready

Let me as you something

YOu have a child in a room with a hot stove. you tell the child, do not touch the hot stove, it will burn you.

THe child touches the stove and gets burned, who's mostly at fault?

Why the child who didn't listen to instructions of course.

Same thing here, this guy plainly did not listen to instructions. Is he retarded, or do you expect the LEO to be clairvoyant? The LEO had no idea what he was reaching for, and so you are essentially saying he should have risked his own life by assuming the guy wasn't reaching for a weapon.


I mean you tell me, what should police do when a subject absolutely refuses to obey even the simplest of commands?


Do you not agree that if the guy had sit still he wouldn't have ended up shot?
