He didn't travel from the U.S. to North Korea. He was in China and saw an offer for a trip to North Korea and took it.

Jeez, he was bright, educated, it ain't the government's fault in any way nor do we need to do more than we are doing to alert Americans to the dangers of any NON FREE COUNTRY
