Miss Louisiana pageant is stupid

I don't get pageant culture... why would anyone waste their time & money on This non-sense. I'd rather my daughter play a team sport that teaches them how to be a team player.

Most pageants have college scholarships as the prize. The bigger the pageant, the bigger the scholarship, the bigger the payout.
You may as well ask why parents pay so much money to put their kids in travel ball. It's the same concept. Pageants are a sport with college scholarships on the line.

Agreed. I dated one for a while then she got tired and said that I "drank" too much. Made going to the pageants a little more enjoyable with a buzz

pageant Sound like a great idea. Teaching our daughters how you dress and look is really important :eyeroll:

I actually used to sing at them - I've known several winners personally and they'd ask me to perform during vote tallies.
Best memory was wearing a tux surrounded by all the girls in bikinis in a 15 by 15 room about to go out on stage together. Felt like James Bond.

yes it is so strange that women are vein and want to be put on a pedestal to be adored and admired for their beauty, and then compete to be chosen as better and more beautiful then all the other women around them.
