I wonder how much TV ratings influence the USGA when it comes to course selection and course setup?
Fox needs all the help they can get. Just a guess on my part, but I bet Fox prefers a winning score of -16 at Erin Hills to say +2 at Oakmont.

I think true golf enthusiasts prefer a -2 and such. However I think the general public who tunes in to watch majors prefer much lower scores.
