Indeed. After the X1 stumbled out of the gate, they shifted focus to combining the Xbox platform with W10. It's a smart move for the future as the dedicated game industry shrinks.

Also, the fact that people push against exclusives is kinda weird. It'll only result in less competition and lower overall quality. I understand the distaste for paying for games to be done only on your platform. That practice has immensely declined in the past few years.

This is going to be interesting to watch. And yeah MS's Windows play could be a really nice buffer against that.

They are all taking three sort of different directions

Microsoft - Betting on W10 and Cross-Platform Play and Access
Nintendo - Bets on First Party and Portability, Looks like Licensing May be open soon as well - Ubi and previous Rare/Retro deals
Sony - Betting on Exclusives, VR
