The most racist people in our country live in the New England states.
People in Vermont who don't live within 20 miles of a black person like to soothe their own 'white guilt' by pointing fingers at us southerners. Despite the fact that we live in a much more homogeneous society than they.

I used to say that people up north were too busy patting themselves on the back for not being "as racist as those people in the South" that they, by default, give themselves a free pass on their own racist actions.
