Are there two Mardi Gras passes? I'm only familiar with the one that is a few miles downriver from E.Point a la Hache.

That is where it gets confusing.... Long before Mardi Gras "cut" east of pointe a la Hache a cut in the river formed there was Mardi Gras pass across from fort Jackson several miles downriver of Mardi Gras "cut".

I can't speak of the history of the new cut east of pointe a la Hache as I don't go there that often but the other Mardi Gras pass has existed since I ca remember easily 35 years. That's why i first asked which one the OP was talking about.
