I've had a Traeger for almost a year now. Use it 3-4 a week so I definitely recommend a pellet smoker but not Traeger. The hopper box design pisses me off. The inside of the box flattens out around the auger so it sucks a hole in the pellets and your fire goes out. I made a tube to put on top of my auger for long smokes. I recently put together a LA grill and the hopper was designed correctly. Can't believe Traeger hasn't fixed this problem. Their pellets are not the best either

I'm going to pull the trigger on a Yoder ys480 before football.season. I've thought about it and I don't need the larger sized one because I'm never doing competitions or huge cooks. 99% family cooks with maybe twice a year extended family holiday cooks. Plenty of room in the 480 and it takes up a smaller footprint.
