If I had to pick one or the other, I'd pick Iran as the country with more hope. Not long ago, Iran was westernized and moderate. Saudi Arabia is a trash Arab shithole.

Persians have been superior to Arabs until oil
Iran is still an issue as they meddle a frick ton regionally
While Saudi is spreading their brand of Islam around the world
