Exactly. I'm a big newshound but over the last month or so I've found myself watching and listening to tv "news" less and less. It has become tv opinionating by all tv media. I watch the news to learn facts, good or bad, not to just be bombarded by opinions.

This is the danger to constructing a news model that is designed primarily as fan support.

Sure, initially, people will seek you out to avoid having to hear shite they don't like.

But, eventually, they'll realize.........."I already know what I think.......".

It's like watching an LSU Football game that's already been played. Sure, it's kinda fun to relive it if it was a great one the first few times.

But, your desire to rewatch it has further and further gaps between incidences.

That's what watching you own opinion spoken back at you does. Eventually, there's just other shite you can be doing that you enjoy more.
