I would argue that the swamp has not been drained and may or not be but via Trump we see it now. He has shown us all that we live in a fantasy.
He has shown us all that we live within an orchestrated machine that serves the powerful establishment that will correct the mistakes they feel are made by the electorate.

It's my opinion that legislation like Citizens United is one of the prime reasons for that machines superb functioning, and that's probably why I'll never vote Republican again. You can't drain the swamp as long as you allow lobbyists the campaign contribution latitude they now enjoy.
