So here's the story. My Vizio went out the other day (had a perfect picture) due to power surges. I went and bought a LG 55" yesterday and hook it all up and mounted it on the wall. (tip- dont mount TVs until you actually plug it in and watch it for a bit)

nevertheless, there are these white speckled dots all of the screen when watching the cable box. Wifi apps and xBox are fine. You can really see them on the black parts of the picture. I adjusted sharpness and everything else, still there.

I moved HDMI cables around to make sure there wasnt interference from elec cords. no go.

I guess my next step is to try a new HDMI cable, which i pray is not the problem because its all run through the walls and will be a BITCH to re-run.

Cable box maybe?

ETA-i just dont think it's the TV because it works fine on all other sources. And i really dont want to take it down to take it back if thats not the problem.

If the power surge jacked up the vizio it is clearly possible it jacked up the cable box as well.
