I have been in Grapevine for about 6 years now, and it's gotten a lot better with regard to traffic. It's a great suburb with a ton to offer. With your budget you shouldn't have trouble finding a house. The nice thing about Grapevine is you can be in Downtown/Uptown Dallas in about 30-45min, and Downtown Ft. Worth in 30min. You are also a short cab ride to DFW.

If single get apt and stay as close as possible to work. (Grapevine). If you had a family, Flower Mound/Southlake.
