I've worked in several countries chasing those oil dollars but I've told my boss that the Middle East is off limits. I've been fortunate they haven't given me an ultimatum to go there. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I worked 2 years in Saudi on a jack up, people stink, hot as hell, no alcohol and the food sucked. But if you are living in a nice compound it's pretty it's not bad. You should be able to retire in 10yrs.
