I'm not military but you're not far off. Basically I don't want to get my arse shipped off to Arabia and never see my son again.

I've worked in several countries chasing those oil dollars but I've told my boss that the Middle East is off limits. I've been fortunate they haven't given me an ultimatum to go there. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I worked offshore there for a while, but spent alot of time on land in Khobar. You could actually walk down the streets at 9 at night and not have to worry about anything. You can lay a $100 bill on your nightstand and they would actually pick it up and clean up under it and put it back. Just about all the restaurants and fast food deliver. I felt alot safer there walking at night than I do in the US.
The hot over there is different. Yes it gets hot but not as humid. I would try it out if I were you. I think the city I was in was close to Bahrain. Good luck
