Softball vs FSU "foul" ball

I've seen a lot of debate on here and I've been arguing with a friend of mine as well.
Player standing in fair territory, reaches for a ball in the air, ball hits glove and lands foul. Regardless of whether the ball was going to land foul or fair, isn't the ball fair because she touched it while in fair territory? What's the actual rule on this?
