It is baseball tradition. The dugout never brings it up. Not only is it considered a jinx, it puts too much pressure on the pitcher to be constantly reminded he has a no hitter going.

In 1985 me and our ace threw a combined no hitter, we went to Mr Gatties after to celebrate. So while it's not a huge deal I think they've at least earned a trip for pizza and watching a cheesy 70s flick on the projection screen, plus a pitcher of coke.
