Why can't your side just be honest? Just say you want larger government and you want higher taxes and make your case from there.
It would be more effective to sell your side rather than whine, bitch and moan "muh Russians", "muh feelings" all the damn time.
Just own what you really want and try to work toward a compromise.

they don't want higher taxes they want someone else to pay for it. liberals typically don't pay taxes that's why they're so free and easy with other peoples money.

They don't need to make honest arguments. Their dishonest ones work just fine and the GOP is either too dimwitted or (more likely) just happy to be perpetual losers in the grand Harlem Globetrotter game that passes for our political system.
