What can be done about Islamic terror?

Ban them from entering our country, oh wait that's too mean.

Nothing. Because all of the solutions are mean and we can't be mean to anyone.

replace the ideology with a better ideology

we have been fighting Muslim countries for decades now, war isn't the solution, it's just a continued bandage

the final solution is destroying the ideology altogether by replacing it with better knowledge, reach the young minds earlier and more aggressively

obviously this won't happen over night or even in the next decade, but it is the only solution

There are millions of these savages in the West already. They have to be dealt with because they're only going to keep breeding like rats and shitting up our society.

Islam is not compatible with Western culture. Hinduism is, Buddhism is, atheism is . We must minimize those who have proven their incompatibility with our culture and kindly assimilate those already among us to the primacy and superiority of Western values and culture.

Or if that is just too much for you, we just get used to burying our dead children.

Realistically, there isn't any particular policy that will effectively prevent it from happening worldwide.

However small the fraction of practicing Muslims that are willing to commit acts of terror to advance their beliefs (both theological and political), there really is no tenable way to isolate them so as to eliminate, or even significantly reduce, the threat of violent actions like last night's bombing. In fact the only effective method at stopping terrorism of any ideological bent is complete global totalitarian control, which would be infinitely worse for humanity.

What the US could do (but almost certainly won't) to at least lessen the number of future incidents would be to declare a complete moratorium on ALL immigration, and begin allowing all visas to foreign nationals to expire without renewal. No citizen of any other nation has a "right" to be in the US.

Simultaneously, we should move to a strictly transactional foreign policy. No more "we have to fight them over there to avoid fighting them here", because that is obviously not working. Maintain a defensive posture for our allies, but stop initiating or supporting their actions against their own citizens or their neighbors, either overtly or covertly.

In other words, no more "Invade the World/Invite the World". Certainly this will cause significant economic upheaval, but not any more than another major terrorist strike similar to 9/11, which I believe to be inevitable if we pursue our current ineffective policies.
