Just finished the trilogy that starts with The Three Body Problem. Science fiction translated from Chinese to English. I don't even read sci fi but it was recommended to me. The first is good, the second is great and the third is amazing. The whole trilogy is mind blowing, really.

The first book, The Three Body Problem, won the Hugo award, and the third is nominated this year. These books have completely ruined me for all future books. I can't find anything remotely interesting or as "deep" or "complex" as these books were. I tried Way of Kings and it was meh so stopped after 100 pages. Now trying Hyperion by Dan Simmons. It's ok so far, but I can't get the Three Body Problem trilogy out of my head.

A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman - Finished it last weekend. I really liked it. The story was good, but I loved Backman's little soliloquies on life, love, death, etc. Very quotable book.

Slaughterhouse-five by Kurt Vonnegut - Started this week. Trying to read more classic novels. So far this one is.... different. Only 1 chapter in.
