It was a bad FA year if I remember correctly and quite a few teams were looking for that one player or SF that would put them over. Mavericks overpaid thinking he was someone they could build around.

If he could have stayed healthy he had the potential to be a legit 20-5-5 type player. The dude's legs just won't stop getting hurt though. It's kind of sad how much talent is being wasted. Not sure why the Grizz gave him that deal though. Once Dallas was willing to let him walk everyone should have known to stay far away.
