By law, the President can NOT be prosecuted for anything he did while he was President. He can be impeached, he can get his arse kicked, he can lose elections, but he can NOT be charged with a crime. Even if the President murdered someone on national TVV he couldn't be charged with a crime, either during his Presidency or after.
