I was never that outraged about the monuments, of course I don't like them being torn down, but I didn't feel the need to speak up until now.

I found this pic on twitter. It is from Lee Circle looking towards Canal St in the 1920's. Notice the shadow of the monument. Also notice the YMCA on the right side which is still there only a new building.
