Clearly I think Trump is a buffoon, but he's the President. He's supposed to make these decisions, not staffers leaking information to hostile media entities.
Of course, the issue is that a ton of people don't trust him to make those decisions, and he's given us plenty of reasons to doubt his competence in this area and his trustworthiness.

Point blank the leakers are bad no matter what side they support.
In this instance, anyone that runs to the Washington Post to leak a story does not have America's best interest at heart, whether it's true or not. If they are leaking it, they are in the inside circle to begin with and understand how politics work. I would think if it's a serious issue, they would contact the appropriate players to actually get something done instead of just causing a stir in a world where Republicans dont believe Democrats anyways and vice versa.
