Someone will explain this to us. I've just seen them marketed for this more lately than I can remember.
Weed Dragon
I think they're good for keeping them out of the cracks of the driveway. I assume also if you're like me and have a drainage swale that is nothing but weeds. I've also read that if you're going to lay sod, rather than spraying roundup prior, these are a good option. Not sure though...which is why I'm asking.

For those "green" folks who are scared a little paraquat or glyphosate is gonna make their chirren be born nekkid or their goober fall off.
I will say that a couple of years ago, I set my tiller down in green sod to pull up some garden rows and I wished I had one of these to burn the rhizomes that I pulled to the top and raked up to keep them from sprouting.
This was only a problem because I decided spur of the moment to put in a garden and didn't use glyphosate/cardboard ahead of time to kill the vegetation.

Help me out here: Under what scenario is burning weeds with a propane torch the right way to go?
When you're doing it for a friend at his place

when you're too lazy to actually weed your beds. first use round-up on the weeds, then burn away the dead.

It's using fire. When is using fire not the right way to go?
