I understand why you would think this, but you are wrong. Maybe you've been out of the country too long. I don't know. But the fact is that the political situation in this country is not how it used to be anymore. We are in a cold civil war and the fear of appearing hypocritical is long gone from the minds of people on both sides of it. The fact is that in 2017 ideology and logic and fairness have been completely defenestrated. Both sides are engaging in the most vitriolic information warfare imaginable and if consistency is what you're looking for you're looking in the wrong place.
