I'm with you. My mother is 68 and in a nursing home. Her dementia kicked in at 60 and it got really bad about 3-4 years ago.
She is currently in a place in Alabama where the cost is more affordable so I'm not able to see her much, which is somewhat of a relief and utterly awful all at once.
I'm hoping for a peaceful end. She would be mortified that she turned out this way.
