A long time ago", after my grandpa died and took his pair on the 45 with him,

Depending on what you definition of a long time ago is, you might have not had an option. 1998, when my father died, there was a no transfer policy, no exceptions. I know it has since changed, but I had death cert, succession, letter from atty. everything short of them listed in a will (I was told that would not have mattered). No transfer, no exceptions.

What does it matter whose name they're in? You could have just left them in his name and kept renewing and paying for them. LSU doesn't care who writes the check.
