quote:Increases in impaired driving in Washington and Colorado are a good reason. Without quick and non-evasive ways to determine if a user is impaired (like with alcohol) it's difficult to enforce DWIs or to prove that you aren't impaired. I think it should remain illegal at least until technology improves in that regard. Otherwise more legalized pot means more drivers smoking pot and more accidents and fatalities on the road with cops being hamstrung with testing and enforcement and citizens/users being on the hook if they happen to have it in their bloodstream when tested even if they weren't technically impaired during an accident.
Should a minor illegal activity get you thrown in jail? One that doesn't infringe on anyone's right to life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness? Should anything be illegal that doesn't infringe on someone else's right to life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness? Give me an argument for why we shouldn't change the law. Other than trying to protect the private prison industry.
