Close the Washington Street exit
The estimates are that it would cost $20 million to relocate it and continue the right hand I-10 lane for another 400 yards.
That's a fairly small project that has been ignored for 25 years....and it would have significant, immediate impact on traffic.

Yes, and the Dalrymple exit is right after. Both are lightly trafficked and should be combined. It makes no sense to have both of them. Its like im taking crazy pills.

Honestly, how does it make that much of a difference with the Dalrymple exit nearby?

It seemed like they built the Bluebonnet Extension and connected it to Coursey....then within a year the entirely new road was clogged every day at rush hour.
Same with Burbank. It was a two lane road until about 5 years ago, and it almost seems like it needs to be widened again in some areas.
What few projects the area gets are a day late and a dollar short. By the time they get around to adding another lane to I-10 between College and the bridge, they'll need to add another lane.
