Islam did try to invade China. Around the second half of 19th century, Muslims was about 25-30% of population in Mid-West China. Then they initiated a war to establish Islam rules and killed millions Chinese. The Chinese took revenge and cleared the Muslims from Mid-West. Total population loss from both side was about 20M.
