So you're going to compare Orgeron's 4th game into an interim season to Les and his 11 years of building his team?
Why not? Eveveryone gives O the credit for the good offensive games we had last year, because he CHANGED it.

i think orgeron changed it as much as he could given the situation, but let's not act like it was a revamp. i am certainly no fan of the coach o hire, but with canada coming in i think we are in a much better situation going forward in terms of offense. my frustration with miles is that he could have been at LSU for years if he just would have handed the offense off to someone who knew what they were doing. he could have had it all. but he let his ego get in the way.

I swear, with the exception of the 2013 team, Les and Cam's offensive philosophy was flubbed after 2011's 9-6.

Run the ball, play the field position game, play it safe, hope for a busted run, and hope for some turnovers (Morris Claiborne's int and Eric Reid's int) and beat them with a couple of field goals.

They played to keep the game close.

ETA: Gotta love the philosophy on the 2012 game. 9 minutes or so, it is 4th and 1. Instead of a chip shot fieldgoal, Les runs that abhorrent under-center, wildcat play with Spencer Ware. As expected, it gets stuffed. Later in the game, it's 3rd and 10 with 2 minutes or so left to play. Jarvis Landry, Odell, and Mett are raping the Alabama secondary. Les/Cam decides to play it safe and opts for a toss dive and it gets a yard or two. LSU misses the 48-yard field goal and the rest is history...

Remember that Orgeron takes over 1/4 into the season. He could not competently change the offense which was heavily predicated on running the ball. The only difference that I saw in the offensive philosophy was a change in blocking schemes that allowed for more zone blocking on runs.

What will infuriate me this year is if Harris goes to North Carolina and lights it up for Fedora and Co. then we will know it was sheer incompetence on Miles' part.

The Tigers still have a problem in that most of the starting O-linemen were recruited for their blocking ability as it applied to the run and not the passing game. Maybe this is easy to correct....maybe not

No, he changed the play-calling. It was still a shitty offense.
