We did and Etling could not complete simple passes under pressure.

Etling was under no more pressure than Deshaun Watson. Austin Allen was getting killed and threw for 400 yds, Ark just had no defense

Too bad we couldn't block long enough for that
Um, maybe because every time we threw the ball it was out of 7-step dropbacks.

Well, that wasn't because our offensive line was bad. Instead, it was because of the Les Miles offense that never changed. As Alabama always knew the plays we were running before the snaps. With most teams that didn't matter because they couldn't stop us anyway, but Alabama wasn't most teams.
Most coaches are always looking and searching for ways to improve, not Miles, he was fully content coasting in his gravy train job. The LSU program nonetheless was still strong enough to be able to produce an acceptable win-loss record despite the liability and excess baggage of Les Miles weighing it down. Getting rid of that loser and that dead weight was the best thing we could have done for LSU. Let's hope it wasn't too late.
Imagine what we will be able to do if we continue as usual fielding a strong defense, but from now on a strong defense with a strong offense.
