Yes it was.

Dude's right. They never make a good antiquity movie. Kingdom of Heaven is set during the Crusades, which I don't consider to be real antiquity.

Kubrick's Spartacus is good, but that's about it.

But Excalibur is awesome, and pretty much takes care of all my King Arthur needs. It's far from "accurate," though. The real Arthur, if he existed, would have lived some time in the 7th to 8th centuries. They didn't even have plate armor back then, and one of the Saints that Arthur swears by when he is knighted hadn't even been born.
